Sew On The Go...
Sew On The Go...
Because we're going to need somewhere to store all this pretty new fabric...
These are the "coming in November" Sew on the GO Suitcases. The nested set of 3 suitcases are made of heavy-duty cardboard and they're really cute. (Like I need to clean out my sewing room to make space for a set or four "really cute.")
I wrote that there would be more "eye candy" today because I couldn't get to all the new pre-Market collections in one day. Okay, I probably could have but I wanted to savor each one. (Again.)
So let's get to it... Bonnie & Camille Basics by Bonnie & Camille. Basics - January 2017.
Their favorite "blender" prints. Your favorite "blender" prints!
These are Bonnie's new patterns - O Happy Day, Wish Upon A Star, Confetti, and Bobbin Box. Bonniecottonway is sharing her quilts.
Bonnie is much further ahead than Camille... she's running a little bit behind.
Okay, so I just really liked this picture. Miss thimbleblossoms has finished Little Star, Colorway, Silver Lining and Little Star Mini.
Kaari Meng - the French General - has debuted Pondicherry - January 2017. Inspired by the colors and prints of an 18th Century French colony in India, the collection is classic French General with an exotic twist.
This is Aurivil. The other new quilts are Pondicherry, Alfassa and Frangipani.
Cue Singing in the Rain!
Rainy Day by Barb & Mary - aka Me & My Sister Designs - meandmysisterdesigns.
Umbrella Plaids, Go Fish and Raindrops are the adorable quilts for Rainy Day - January 2017.
This is Rufus in the Garden.
This is by Jan Patek - it's made with her beautiful new Coral Bells collection - January 2017. Jan_Patek_Quilts is giving sneak peeks of her applique and other quilts as Market approaches.
Those greens... they're my favorite. And the blacks.
Jo Morton has Reflections - January 2017.
I don't know if joquilts has used any Reflections in her Scrappy Pyramid blocks but she's been mixing some Gratitude into many of them.
The collection does mix beautifully with others...
This is Comfort Zone - it mixes Coral Bells and Reflections.
Compositions! Rachel Benchley of Basic Grey has created a terrific neutral collection that is eclectic, sophisticated and a bit musical. Compositions is in shops in January 2017.
See what Rachel is up to at official_basicgrey.
Studio M is back with Mixed Bag 2017 - February 2017.
The background is Moda's Black Denim - 12050 14 (Yes, I have a plan.)
Pat Sloan's Sunday Drive is bright, happy and a whole lot of fun. Kind of like Pat herself.
Sunday Drive - February 2017. This is Red Door Lane - the print version. quilterpatsloan can tell you all about it and show you her batiks.
And finally, a little bit of Poetry - February 2017. 3 Sisters. (They don't care for Instagram so there isn't a link.)
Poetry has prints and "wovens" - stripes, plaids, Dobby dots, a ruffled print, a coated cotton and a very cool tucked-fabric. Here are the quilting-weight stripes and plaids.
Like the "silky wovens" of recent years, these fabrics have a silky-soft feel to them. But unlike those old silky-wovens, these fabrics are closer in weight to regular quilting cotton. They wash up beautifully and would be lovely for garments. Or quilt backings. Or mixed with the prints.
Lissa - our own ModaLissa - is making a baby quilt and the mix of fabrics she selected is perfect.
That's the ruffled cotton on the left, and the Dobby dots on the bottom of each row. (That piece with the gold "x"s on white... that's from Modern Backgrounds Luster. It's yummy. No. 1611 11M.)
This quilt mixes the prints and the wovens - it's called Hello Sun.
And in another five weeks... more.
But we don't need to think about that today. Okay, I do but hopefully, you get to sew. I'm working on project sheets, patterns and a few other things. And sewing. It's supposed to rain this weekend so I might use that as a good reason to stay inside and do just that.
Happy Friday!
