Block Heads 2 - Block 39
Block Heads 2 - Block 39
With today's block, we're three-quarters of the way through Block Heads 2.
Super-fantastically-yummy is a word, right? Those are Corey Yoder's Block Heads 2 blocks - made with a scrappy assortment of fabrics from her seven collections of fabric.
That's right, seven! Can you name them? One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven.
Block Heads! Today is Corey's block and it's a big Bordered Granny! This is the last big block - every one after this is 12" or 6".
Michele's block - the fabrics are from Jo Morton's New Hope collection.
While Corey's eighth fabric collection is finished and will make it's debut at Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City in May, let's look at Strawberry Jam before it arrives at your favorite shop in March.
This was Corey's space in Designer Row at Fall Quilt Market.
From left to right - Gingham Garden - Plain & Fancy - In Addition.
This is Sincerely Yours. Because Strawberry Jam needs a strawberry quilt. Made with 1 Strawberry Jam Honey Bun (42 strips - 1.5" x 42".) and some additional yardage, this 60" x 60" quilt is also available as a complete kit.
Did you see Corey's Scrappy Happy Baskets quilt? She made this block for her Block Heads 2 quilt as an alternate to Jan's Vine and Basket appliqué block. (Block 34.) Corey made one block... then made a whole bunch more!
Mixing her Strawberry Jam collection with Fig Tree's Chantilly and Lella Boutique's Lollipop Garden, Corey made this perfectly scrappy quilt. You can get the pattern for the block on Corey's blog post for Block 34.
Just in case you missed it - Block 39 - Bordered Granny.
Remember... if the blogs aren't up or the links aren't working, check the Moda Block Heads 2 Archive. Because if you're reading this, it's already been updated and it will have what you're looking for.

One last thing, if you follow Corey on Instagram - @corianderquilts - you know that she posts pictures on Sunday mornings, a "Sunday slow down". The pictures are usually taken on her way to or from church, and many of the picures are of the Amish buggies that are a frequent sight in Ohio. This is one of my favorite pictures.
That's it for this week and Block 39.
Happy Wednesday!
